previous editions

Desertif’actions is an event initiated by CARI several years ago, in partnership with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. Since 2006, five editions have been organized in different countries and cities:

2006: Montpellier, France
2015: Montpellier, France
2017: Strasbourg, France
2019: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
2022: Montpellier, France.

The objective of each edition was targeted according to each COP theme that it preceded or followed, but remained basically the same: to facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue to facilitate the emergence of common positions in order to structure the work of influencing decision makers.

Earth, Biodiversity and Climate
This 4th edition took place from June 19 to 22 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. 380 participants came from about 40 countries, representing 230 multi-stakeholder organizations. Discover the 2019 Edition.

International Year to Combat Desertification
This 1st edition will take place from September 21 to 23 in Montpellier, France. Discover the 2006 Edition
