Desertif’actions 2022

Agroecological solutions to inspire the transition

CARI is launching a dynamic Desertif’actions 2022 with activities to build and carry out advocacy throughout the year. Partners and volunteer organizations are invited to organize national workshops to prepare a civil society advocacy for agroecology.

Desertif’actions 2022 aims to put agroecology at the top of the agenda in the fight against desertification and land degradation, by sharing and pooling the results of actions carried out by civil society and research.

This fifth edition of Désertif’actions will take place throughout the year 2022 following a three-phase process.

Phase 1: January – April 2022 in as many countries as possible on a voluntary basis

  • Preparation of a joint advocacy of the international civil society on the links between land, biodiversity and climate around agroecology

Phase 2: May 2022 in Côte d’Ivoire during the UNCCD COP15

  • Joint advocacy will be carried by civil society spokespersons in order to influence decision-making in favor of the implementation of agroecology

Phase 3: October 2022 in Montpellier (France) the International Desertif’actions Summit

  • A multi-stakeholder meeting open to the world, where international civil society can meet and strengthen its advocacy

Contact CARI if you are interested in organizing a national workshop:

For each country, get in touch with all the actors potentially interested in organizing this workshop to pool your efforts. Do not hesitate to contact CARI if you wish to be put in contact with organizations in your countries, as we have connections with many actors in the networks and countries we work with (ReSaD, RADDO, Drynet, etc).

CARI is available to any organization that needs methodological support for the organization of a preparatory workshop. However, CARI does not provide financial support for the organization of country workshops.
